5G campus network guide for clinics

KliNet5G evaluates the feasibility of a 5G-based network infrastructure based on OpenRAN in hospitals with medical technology, biosensor and hospital logistics applications. The pilot applications are each being developed by an industry partner and a university partner and evaluated together with hospital IT and external experts. In addition to the technical applications, the focus is also on risk assessments, approval capability and possible operator models.

In this context, AIN is creating a guideline for hospital operators that will enable the hospital to implement and operate 5G campus networks independently or through external partners. For this purpose, basic knowledge in the areas of different 5G architectures, components and roles is defined. Based on this, the entire life cycle of a 5G campus network is considered. Particular attention is paid to the operation of the network and possible operator models.
